Felting is Good For You - edition 2010

Lyn taught us how to make felted flowers. Mine is a bit wild.


I decided to make a shrug - part shirt, part shawl. This photo shows some of the surface design laid out on the roving before being felted.


Here the shrug has been felted enough to hold the surface design and the three felted pieces together. Serious shrinkage hasn't started yet.


Here is the shrug in its final form. You can see the shibori puckers, the armhole and how the surface designs have shrunk into the fiber.
